August 2011 Mission report Yemen

Yemen is currently experiencing severe political instability, rising insecurity and continuous conflict inducted displacement (extended now to southern Yemen and North Sanaa). Power and fuel shortages have disrupted the supply of safe water and food prices are very high. These factors are putting additional strain on a population already suffering from high levels of poverty and malnutrition although their impact is to be further documented and analysed.
