Climate change policy outside the EU: the role of carbon pricing

The Towards2030-dialogue Issue Paper No.7 focuses on how carbon pricing schemes could have implications for the achievement of EU renewables policy goals. Its aim is to:

• identify the principal ways in which the evolution of carbon pricing in other countries is relevant to EU renewables policy;
• gather evidence on how schemes are likely to develop, taking into account key uncertainties;
• use scenarios to explore some plausible outcomes; and
• consider their implications.
