Coastal Protection: Best Practices from the Pacific (2015)
“The report provides a foundation to guide coastal managers, coastal planners, coastal engineers, decision makers and disaster managers throughout the Pacific in their efforts to find solutions. The goal is to devise ‘no regret’ strategies using effective interventions to protect the Pacific coasts, ecosystems and basic vital infrastructure.” We like this document because it includes a range of structural, non-structural, and soft and hard engineering practices while emphasizing knowledge sources within the Pacific. We suggest this document to anyone interested in: regional best-practice reports; coastal protection practices; and adaptation to climate change in the Pacific.
