Damaliscus lunatus
Although this species remains widespread across Sub-Saharan Africa, the Damaliscus lunatus (better known under the name Tiang) has undergone substantial declines during the last century and is threatened by hunters for its meat, competing with cattle. This is the only sub-species of Damaliscus found in Chad. According to the IUCN Red List of endangered species, this sub-species is classed under Version 3.1: Least Concern. For further information on this particular species, please consult the IUCN "Damaliscus lunatus ssp. tiang" fact sheet.
