Disaster Risk Reduction State of Play in the Pacific

The DRRP has developed three DRR State of Play briefs to take stock of progress in the Pacific, Caribbean and Africa since 2023, covering disaster risk governance, investment in resilience, preparedness and recovery, inclusion, digital transformation and knowledge management. 

The reports highlight important advances, from stronger policy frameworks and early warning systems to new approaches to risk financing and anticipatory action. At the same time, they point to persistent challenges, including sustainable financing, institutional capacity, interoperable data and information systems, and the effective implementation of DRR measures at the local level. 

Taken together, the three regional State of Play reports provide a strong basis for cross-regional learning, revealing common challenges, contrasting approaches and transferable practices that can help strengthen DRR across EU partner countries in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific.
