Case study & Lessons learned
The EcoAct (Ecovillage Adaptation to Climate Change in Central Tanzania) project has built on the successes of the previous project called the Chololo Ecovillage, to increase the capacity of vulnerable semi-arid rural Tanzanian communities to adapt to the adverse effects of climate change and reduce poverty.
EcoACT has three main result areas:
- To rollout the best practices from Chololo Eco-village to two wards and introduce new innovations based on vulnerability assessment;
- To strengthen the capacity of local government institutions in two districts on climate change adaptation strategies; and
- To establish an effective knowledge management system for learning and sharing nationally.
