A regional network for the conservation and use of Plant Genetic Resources - PAPGREN, the Pacific Agricultural PGR Network - is helping improve the management of these valuable resources in the Pacific. By strengthening national programmes and stimulating collaboration among them, PAPGREN contributes to the better use of PGR for sustainable development. PAPGREN focuses on conservation, management and sustainable use of crop germplasm in the Pacific, while the Pacific Breeders Network builds capacity in areas of Plant Breeding and Crop Improvement.
