Feeding hunger and insecurity. Field analysis of volatile global food commodity prices

These reports published by ACF present a field analysis of the volatility of international food prices, food security and child undernutrition. Several consequences of the 2007-2008 food prices crisis are analysed, based on case studies. First the causes of the food crisis are analysed. Then situations of vulnerability are studied at the household level. The main part of the paper explains the impact of the price rise on the nutritional situation. The authors discuss what the international and national responses should be to the food prices crisis.
