Gender-Age Toolkit (eng)
toolkit-overview.png
From the 1 January 2014 ECHO has introduced a Gender-Age Marker as a quality tool to assess to what extent each humanitarian action integrates gender and ages considerations. ECHO partners are requested to use it when proposing a project. There will be a test period until 1 July 2014 allowing for modifications where necessary of the tool and where the gender marker will not be used for statistical purposes. As of 1 July 2014 the gender marker becomes mandatory except for projects where it is not applicable (e.g. Enhanced Response Capacity).
The Gender-Age Marker Toolkit presents how to use the Gender marker as well as guidance on how to integrate gender and age concerns in humanitarian action. At the end of the toolkit you also find a "Gender-Age Marker Assessment Card" that summarises the key elements to be considered under each criterion of the marker, where to insert or find relevant information in proposals or reports and how to mark. The Assessment card can be printed separately and can be used and carried around as an aide- memoire.
