Global Nutrition Report 2014: Actions and Accountability to Accelerate the World’s Progress on Nutrition
This first-ever Global Nutrition Report provides a comprehensive narrative and analysis on the state of the world’s nutrition and tracks worldwide progress in improving nutrition status and identifies bottlenecks to change.
The Report’s assessment of the Global Nutrition Targets for 2025 set by the World Health Assembly (WHA) shows that the world is not on track to meet any of these goals. A strong commitment to improving nutrition faster and build this goal into the post-2015 process is needed. Better data on nutrition outcomes and nutrition financing, as well as investments in nutrition-sensitive programs and the development of effective accountability mechanisms, will be crucial elements in scaling up nutrition action.
