Study
Red Cross Society of Malawi and Netherlands/Malawi/2017. A sholarly study on the early warning systems traditionally used by Malawian communities in the lower Shire river- specifically related to flooding. The study explores what indigenous early warning signs are available within communities, how these are shared within the community and if and how they are being used in preparing for and reducing the impacts of disasters. It was conducted under the EU ECHO action "Enhancing resilience of vulnerable communities and building institutional disaster response capacity in Phalombe, Thyolo, Chikwawa and Nsanje (Malawi)".
