Interventions for improving learning outcomes and access to education in low- and middle-income countries
This systematic review, titled "Interventions for improving learning outcomes and access to education in low- and middle-income countries," synthesises findings from 238 studies evaluating the effectiveness of different education programmes across 52 low- and middle-income countries. The review focuses on the impact of various interventions, such as cash transfers, school-based health programmes, merit-based scholarships, and structured pedagogy, on children's access to education (e.g., enrolment, attendance, completion) and learning outcomes (e.g., maths and language arts). The review aims to provide insights into which interventions are most effective in overcoming barriers to education, including gender disparities, and to offer recommendations for policy and practice.
