July 2012 Mission report Ethiopia

Over the past years, DG ECHO support to drought affected areas mainly focused on nutrition and food interventions.  As to bring a lasting reduction on recurring high levels of acute malnutrition, the Ethiopia team proposes for the coming years a shift to a multi-sectoral drought response in geographically determined areas according to their specific agro-ecological-humanitarian typologies.

An analysis of the health sector was done as to identifying needs/gaps in the sector which, when addressed can make a positive contribution to a more lasting and more effective result and build resilience.
