New Guidance note (2024) - Evaluation with Gender as a cross-cutting dimension
In the context of improving and updating the quality of our evaluations, a joint INTPA-NEAR-FPI working group has developed a guidance note on “Evaluation with Gender as a Cross-Cutting Dimension”.
Its purpose is to support the work of Operational Managers and external evaluators in better integrating the gender dimension into the analysis done within the evaluations of the actions funded by the EU.
The EU is committed to achieving gender equality within the framework of its external cooperation and assistance under the Gender Action Plan III (GAP III) and the Sustainable Development Goals. Thus, Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women and Girls are key issues to address in our evaluations.
This guidance document serves to underpin these commitments. Specifically, it provides:
- key information on the EU commitments,
- ideas for a gender-sensitive method of preparing evaluation questions,
- a checklist for ensuring gender-sensitivity throughout the evaluation cycle,
- useful links and bibliography.
