OECD TOOLKIT - Impact by design - Effective Results Frameworks for Sustainable Development

This OECD Toolkit, titled "Impact by Design", is intended for partner country governments and development co-operation providers. It is more than just a technical tool – it provides ideas to help make the strategic and political leap towards aligning all efforts and investments with sustainable development objectives. Results frameworks, when properly used, can map out the trajectory from finance to outcomes and provide structured methods to manage complex challenges effectively. They can also help teams and organisations, large and small, boost their focus on development impact.

The toolkit provides an in-depth understanding of the components of an effective results framework, offers insights on incorporating sustainable development and the SDGs into existing practices, and guidance on monitoring and using these frameworks. It is a practical synthesis of rich discussions, country case studies and technical dialogues designed to strengthen co-operation and foster a collective focus on transformational impact.

The toolkit is the result of a partnership between the European Commission and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
