Press Kit World Aquarium against Marine Litter EN

The 'World Aquariums against marine litter' campaign is a global awareness raising action about marine litter. It has been initiated by the European Commission as an EU contribution to the #CleanSeas campaign of the United Nations Environment Programme.

It was officially launched by Karmenu Vella, European Commissioner for the Environment, Maritime Affairs And Fisheries, on 27 July in Monaco, in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, Erik Solheim, Head of the United Nations Environment Programme, Doug Cress, Chief Executive Officer of WAZA, Director of Oceanographic Museum of Monaco  Robert Calcagno, as well as many other personalities.
