From Principles to Practice - Strengthening Information Integrity

This document provides an operational framework for implementing the 2024 Global Principles on Information Integrity by outlining five key areas for action: strengthening societal trust and resilience against information manipulation, redesigning digital and advertising incentives to prioritise accuracy and safety over engagement, expanding public digital literacy to counter misinformation and hate speech, protecting independent and pluralistic media including journalists and researchers, and improving transparency and data access for research on harmful information flows, all aimed at fostering a coordinated multi-stakeholder response to safeguard information integrity as a foundation for human rights and sustainable development.
