Our project is Public Transparency and involving eight subnational governments of Uruguay , Argentina , Paraguay and Chile ( departmental governments and municipalities ) , three non-public entities (OSC ) and is funded by the European Union.

It aims to contribute to the process of political and social empowerment of citizens and local CSOs , strengthening their capacities pro - active for citizen oversight and monitoring are enabling social and co - stars of the local human development processes that affect them.

Like what we do?

i ) Sensitizing local public actors and civil society organizations about the importance of agreeing and implementing accountability model , governmental transparency , social audit and social monitoring .

ii ) Creating opportunities for communication , outreach and joint decision-making of local governments with civil society .

iii ) Providing the user of services and projects and the general citizen access to them and presenting suggestions, requests , complaints and denunciations .

A who benefits ?

First term partners : Municipalities of San Isidro and Bariloche ( Argentina ) and Peñalolen Los Andes (Chile ), San Bernardino and President Franco ( Paraguay ) ALPACA training institutions ( Spain ) ; Management Institute ( Argentina ) ; NGOs Initium (Chile ) ; CIESU ( Uruguay and Paraguay ) , and two municipalities in Brazil will be invited to participate in this experience with a focus on regional citizenship mercosulina . And second term to approximately 1.6 million people who make up the human geography of the 8 sub-national governments and are the and citizenship @ s , subject to rights and duties , leading the project as beneficiaries.

What are the expected results ?

That 200 hierarchs and city officials are sensitized , trained and involved ;

management and technical staff of local social organizations ( 400 people) are sensitized , trained and involved.

Three South American Non-State Entities increase their expertise and specialize in the topics: citizen oversight , monitoring social information systems , transparency , accountability, development of indicators , by the contribution of the European experience.

What activities will take place ?
