Project Factsheet - TAMWA - Zanzibar/Tanzania
This brief presents the work of Tamwa, a WYDE | Women's Leadership grantee in Zanzibar, Tanzania, supported under the WYDE | Women’s Leadership programme, funded by the European Union and led by UN Women.
This project aims to strengthen the leadership, visibility, and meaningful participation of women, particularly young women and women with disabilities, in democratic and decision-making processes in Zanzibar. It will apply a multi-layered approach combining advocacy, training, mentorship, and institutional strengthening to address structural barriers limiting women’s political participation.
TAMWA is amongst 16 women’s rights civil society organizations leading country-level interventions to advance women’s political participation and leadership.
