In her book, Saskia Koppenberg gives an in-depth analysis of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD)...With regard to the 2-year assessment process evaluating the GFMD...the study provides valuable recommendations for the ways in which a more successful and comprehensive GFMD can be attained in the future....The study includes a comparative analysis of the UNHCR-led dialogue on Targeting Development Assistance (TDA), which discusses the link between forced migration and development...It reveals forced migrants have largely been absent from the GFMD agenda, despite the fact that their potential to be agents of development has been acknowledged.

About the author:
Saskia Koppenberg was born in Oldenburg in 1985, Germany; she holds a Master’s degree in International Development Studies from the University of Vienna, Austria. Her research and work focus is on migration and development with special interest in forced migration issues. Koppenberg currently lives in Cairo where she works with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
