Response to EU Water Initiative Finance Working Group: Examples of World Bank Group Activities

As a part of its Second Work program the FWG plans to identify the “characteristics of mechanisms that encourage success and those that impede the success of financing” in meeting these objectives. For this, the FWG is currently “assembling best practice and lessons learned of financial mechanisms that supply and/or leverage funding for the water and sanitation sector and meet the needs of the poor”. In this regard, the FWG has approached the World Bank to obtain information on its work in this area. This note and the attached materials provide information in response to this request.
