Rising Together: The Voice of Sheeba
Sheeba is a cohort member of the "Rising Together" programme and is based in Jaunpur, India. She works closely with a grassroots community centre addressing issues of rights, health, and education.
"Rising Together" -funded under the WYDE | Women's Leadership initiative and implemented by G@WI/India- seeks to build the capacities and mentor young women leaders who roll out community initiatives to eliminate discrimination and to empower women and in particular young women from marginalized groups.
Sheeba shares how her work supports women, adolescents, and young children through local learning spaces and community-led efforts. From setting up science-based learning centres for children to building leadership and skills among adolescent girls, Sheeba’s work is deeply rooted in her community. Through "Rising Together", she hopes to carry new learnings back home, strengthen awareness efforts through trainings and outreach, and build stronger local action alongside a wider network of peers.
