Views on recent news: Addressing food and nutrition security through the implementation of national social transfer programmes. This question was at the heart of the regional seminar organised at the initiative of the European Commission from April 17–20 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. This meeting aimed to discuss, with national and regional actors, on the establishment of permanent social transfer systems that could respond to cyclical and structural crises in the Sahel. This article discusses the key messages that emerged from the seminar and the recommendations formulated for a better future use of social transfers within integrated strategies to improve the resilience, food security and nutrition.
