SEED Annual Report 2014
SEED is a global partnership for action on sustainable development and the green economy. Founded by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, SEED supports innovative small scale and locally driven enterprises around the globe which integrate social and environmental benefits into their business model.
The aim of SEED is to stimulate and inform the growing interest in social and environmental entrepreneurship. This, like previous Annual Reports, describes the business models and innovative approaches of the forty-one 2015 SEED Winners who are fully committed to improving the situation of their communities and the environment. They are from across the globe and represent efforts to deal imaginatively with waste, build up rural agriculture, offer local access to clean energy.
