Social Behavior Change Communication: Evaluating and Replanning - USAID - (2012)
This is the final stage of USAID's SBCC series and program, focused on the conclusion of projects, with the effectiveness of projects being monitored and evaluated. USAID recommends that, in order for evaluation to be conducted most effectively, groups should:
Firstly, collect data over time, during implementation on:
• Program Process (what the program did and what the population did).
• The quality of the interventions and materials.
Secondly, collect data at discrete points in time before, during, and after implementation to:
• Compare with the baseline.
• Document outcomes and changes in the population.
• Verify whether the data support assumptions made in the theory of change.
Should this be done, USAID believes that an effective, thorough evaluation can be carried out, where all possible information can be obtained. With this in mind, future plans can be made based off of any lessons or good practices learned via the evaluation.
