Social Behavior Change Communication: Understanding the Situation - USAID - (2012)

This document focuses on the first step of the SBCC model: Understanding the Situation. Basically, it explains that in order to begin the SBCC method that the United States Agency for International Development recommends, the group using it must evaluate the environment they find themselves in. This is a preparation stage, where the group looks into their issue from many different perspectives in order to help determine where their time and effort is best placed. This document also cites several examples of this first stage being deployed, in Southern Africa, Kenya, and Albania.
