Social Protection for People with Disabilities in Europe: An Analysis of Policies in 35 Countries

Across 35 European countries, social protection policies address disability-specific income support, provisions for older individuals with disabilities, and financial assistance for healthcare and home adaptations. Challenges include accessing unemployment protection, guaranteed minimum income (GMI) schemes, and the availability of assistive technology and personal assistance services. Recommendations focus on enhancing access to social protection and highlight effective practices implemented in various countries.
