SPHIP Support Team - International Conference Public Health GMR Countries, 2017 Myanmar, Opening Session, NCDs and policies by Jaap Koot

On 22 and 23 November the International Conference on Public Health in Greater Mekong Sub-Regional Countries took place in Yangon, Myanmar. Host was the University of Public Health, Yangon, with support from HelpAge International. The theme was NCDs. More than 500 participants from more than 10 countries participated in the conference and shared their experiences an research.

Several researchers from SPHP projects presented their findings and gave presentations or showed posters.

Dr Jaap Koot was one of the panelists during the opening session. He made an appeal to the public health specialist to follow an whole of government approach in order to effectively reduce NCDs.
