Strengthen the capacity of networks of agricultural organizations by the analysis of the evolution of the grain price in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger during the period 2001-2010... and its impact on the warrantage in Niger.

Afrique Verte and its partners pick up the price of grain on the market, since June 2001. The publication "Point on the food situation" (PSA) brings together all the data collected by Afrique Verte on the price of cereals. Afrique Verte offers an analysis of trends in the price of grain products over 9 years. It is interesting to see that these fluctuations are quite different from the trends in international markets. With the exception of (local and imported) rice cereal prices remain stable in 2001 and 2009. The fluctuations are nonetheless important within this period. The most important peak is the end of the year 2005 and the food crisis of 2008 is less pronounced in the price level. Moreover, the decline in prices during the year 2009 is very moderate, or non-existent on most markets.
