Summary Booklet of TED Annual Meeting 2026 published
The Fourth Annual Meeting of Team Europe Democracy (TED), held in Brussels on 16–17 June 2026, convened over 190 participants from EU institutions, Member States, civil society, and partner organisations. This year’s meeting explored how TED can further serve as a platform for exchange and cooperation, connecting knowledge, partnerships, and tools in the context of growing geopolitical challenges, shrinking civic space, and democratic backsliding.
Discussions centred on integrating democratic principles "by design" into EU international partnerships, strengthening cooperation with the private sector, and fostering locally grounded resilience. The annual meeting also explored how TED can better respond to democratic openings, deepen coordination, and translate shared priorities into tangible, context-specific action.
This Summary Booklet brings together key insights from keynote addresses, plenary debates, and workshops, reflecting discussions on how democratic governance, civic participation, and accountability can be strengthened—from embedding integrity in the Global Gateway to safeguarding civic space and information integrity.
