Unlocking Innovation: Enabling and blocking factors in developing innovative programmes in Oxfam GB
Oxfam published a report reviewing 13 of its in-house innovative initiatives and dissected those factors promising success, impact at scale, systemitic change, access to new funding as well as partnerships.
Abstract:
In this rapidly changing world, how can a development and humanitarian NGO like Oxfam GB unlock its people, knowledge, networks, partnerships and resources to achieve greater impact at scale?
This report considers examples of innovation in Oxfam GB’s programmes; what factors have been important in their success, and how innovation could be fostered. The research focused on initiatives with potential to bring impact at scale and those that might bring systemic change. The initiatives examined have also frequently enabled Oxfam GB to successfully access funding that would not have otherwise been available and to work with stakeholders with whom it would not have otherwise worked.
