Youth Economic Empowerment Project Tanzania beneficiaries graduations media report
The Youth Economic Empowerment project (YEE) has been holding a series of 11 graduations for its beneficiaries in nine districts in five regions in mainland Tanzania. The graduations started in July 15th, 2016atKibuta Ward inKisarawe district,Pwani region and continue to mid-August.
The graduation involve youth (both boys and girls) who attended 6month courses offered by the project partner Vocational Educational Training Authority (VETA), this is a leading government institution in the vocational training field. The trainings (batch 1 in September 2015 and batch 2 in January 2016) offered various technical courses including electric installation, masonry, motor vehicle/motorcycle mechanics, welding and metal fabrication, tailoring, catering and decoration among others.
This is a three years project (April 1, 2015 - March 31, 2018) and isimplemented in Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Pwani, Lindi and Mtwara regions with generous support from the European Union. Plan International Tanzania and VSO Tanzania are implementers in partnership with VETA, UHIKI, CODERT and CCBRT together with the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Employment, Youth and People with Disability.
During the graduations, officiated by two different Deputy Ministers one in charge of Youth and another of Local government, media coverage was our priority, and attached is a report to that effect.
