I am a policy officer following several files at the Bahá’í International Community (BIC) (www.bic.org) Brussels Office including global goverance, the Africa-Europe Partnership and agrifood systems.
The Bahá’í International Community is an NGO, with national affiliates in over 180 countries, including in all Member States of the European Union. Aside from the Brussels Office, we have United Nations Offices in Geneva and New York, and regional Offices Addis Ababa, Jakarta and Cairo. The Brussels Office of the BIC engages with the institutions and agencies of the European Union, the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. In addition to national affiliates, we serve as an umbrella network for over 160 social and economic development organisations, across 100+ countries, working in fields as diverse as health, education, agriculture, and gender equality.
I’m a member of the Interim Steering Committee (ISC) of the Africa-Europe Civil Society Engagement Platform (CSEP) offering support with the platform's organisational, administrative, communication, governance and content work. As the youngest member of the ISC, I serve as one of the co-chairs of the Youth Working Group, which faciliates knowledge sharing and dialgoue among the members, and also acts as an interface between the platform and intergovernmental structures and processes surrouding the AU-EU Partnership.
