Fahd Saif is a dynamic, results-driven professional with over 20 years of experience in diplomacy, peacebuilding, development, resilience, capacity building and humanitarian response. With a career spanning Yemen and Pakistan, Fahd has designed and led over 27 strategic programs addressing complex challenges in fragile and conflict-affected settings. His work bridges grassroots engagement with policy advocacy, engaging stakeholders from local communities to international donors and the UN Office of the Special Envoy for Yemen.
Fahd brings deep expertise in conflict prevention, governance, mediation, transitional justice, countering violent extremism (CVE), civil society capacity building, and youth and women’s empowerment. He is recognized for institutionalizing peace infrastructure, designing national-level peace frameworks, and managing multi-sectoral initiatives that foster social cohesion, local ownership, and inclusive governance.
Key Areas of Expertise and Achievements
• Conflict Prevention, Management and Mediation: Designed and supported local mechanisms for resolving community disputes related to resources, services, and local governance. Facilitated the creation of over 100 local community peace committees.
• Peacebuilding & Reconciliation: Supervised over 200 community dialogues, helped in establishing of more than 100 peace committees and contributed to Yemen’s National Peace Policy under IPY.
• Countering Violent Extremism (CVE): Developed strategies to address root causes and promote youth alternatives.
• Project and Grant Management: Directed 27+ large-scale projects and supervised 200+ small grants in peace and resiliency.
• Civil Society Engagement & Capacity Building: Built the capacities of over 50 CSOs and mentored research projects.
