Farhod Rahmatov is the Project Director of the EU-funded global initiative, Advancing Global Innovation and Learning Effectively to Build Resilience in Independent Media (AGILE), which is being implemented across 31 countries in Asia, Africa, and the Americas. A seasoned media expert with over 15 years of experience, he has worked extensively as a media trainer, TV and multimedia producer, and international program manager. His work has focused on strengthening the capacity of media professionals and outlets, particularly in Central Asia, the Enlargement region, and the Eastern Neighbourhood.
Until recently, Mr. Rahmatov led regional and national media development programs across the South Caucasus and served as Internews’ Program Director for Central Asia. He previously held key leadership roles at Internews, including Deputy Chief of Party for Central Asia (2015–2016) and Country Director for Tajikistan (2013–2016).
Mr. Rahmatov is an alumnus of the global Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program. During the 2012–2013 academic year, he studied mass communications and journalism at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, with a focus on social media and social media metrics.
He is fluent in Russian, Tajik/Farsi, and English, and has professional working proficiency in Turkish and Uzbek.
