Pierre Jalladeau is an international development professional with over 20 years of experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder programmes across Sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia.
From 2013 to 2020, he served as Africa Director at CFI, the French media development agency, where he oversaw a portfolio of up to 12 concurrent projects (up to €2M each) spanning media, journalism, vocational training and film production across West and Central Africa. He managed a team of 15 staff across headquarters and field offices in Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and Côte d'Ivoire, while ensuring donor compliance and reporting for AFD, the EU, GIZ and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was also a member of CFI's Executive Committee and served as Treasurer of the Digital Africa association, a French presidential initiative for African entrepreneurship and innovation.
Between 2011 and 2013, he managed CFI's programme acquisition policy (€2.5M/year budget) and maintained relationships with approximately 50 African broadcasters.
Prior to CFI, he spent four years as a media and public policy consultant at Media Consulting Group, conducting strategic studies on African audiovisual markets for the EU, the French government and international broadcasters.
From 2021 to 2025, he served as Regional Audiovisual Attaché at the French Embassy in Singapore, leading a regional programme to develop film and creative industry ecosystems across six South-East Asian countries (€850K budget), and representing France on the executive committee of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD).
He also held a coordination role at UNESCO's Communication and Information sector, managing media projects in crisis and gender equality contexts.
He holds a postgraduate degree in ancient history from the University of Bordeaux and is fluent in French, English and Italian.
