Samidha graduated with a degree in Urban Management and Development from Institute for Housing and Development Studies (IHS), Erasmus University, Rotterdam. She specializes in urban housing, equity, and social justice. Currently, she is one of the partners of urbz, an action and research collective specializing in participatory urban planning and design, governance, and architecture based in Dharavi (Mumbai). urbz believes that residents are experts of their neighborhoods. Their everyday experiences constitute essential knowledge for architecture, planning, urban development, and policy-making. Echoing urbz's philosophy, Samidha brings in elements of participation in architectural and urban projects to develop community-centric designs and planning. At present, she is engaged in participatory development projects in India and Europe. And as an urban researcher, she works on several research projects in Dharavi, ranging from adequate housing for the urban poor to climate change.
