
RAZANAKOLONA Tokiniaina is an actor recognized in the field of renewable energy with over 12 years of experience. His professional journey demonstrates a remarkable progression from technician to leadership and strategic advisory roles on an international scale. A PhD candidate in Energy Management and Promotion of Productive Uses of Electricity, he also holds degrees in Executive Management and Engineering in Business Management and Organization, with a Master's I in Industrial Computer Science and a Bachelor's in Telecommunication and Networks.
Throughout his career, Tokiniaina has sized, supervised, and audited over 700 energy sites, positively impacting the lives of more than 500,000 people through his energy access initiatives. His expertise extends beyond Madagascar's borders, covering nine African countries. His career is marked by prestigious collaborations, notably with TotalEnergies (3MWc projects in C&I and service stations, management of a 60 MWp portfolio and annual budgets of $2M), Sagemcom (energy solutions for telecom stations), and international organizations such as the World Bank (LEAD/OMDF project via Bamboo Capital), GIZ (PERER III / TANGO project funded by BMZ and the European Union), and UNDP (AutarSys/Metaplasco consortium project for rural electrification).
As a Rural Electrification Consultant, Tokiniaina leads the Mini-Grid Project component of the PERER III program, coordinating rural electrification activities encompassing solar and hydroelectric technologies, and the productive use of electricity (PUE). He ensures the supervision and auditing of mini-grid projects, as well as conducting technical, financial, and organizational due diligence.
His skills cover a wide spectrum, from technical expertise/sizing, financial to business aspects (development, negotiation) and methodological approaches (MEAL, GIS).
Since July 2024, Tokiniaina has held the position of National President of the subcommittee in charge of IECRE - IEC Renewable Energy standards within the National Electrotechnical Committee (NEC) of the Madagascar Standards Bureau.
