The #ClimateOfChange campaign led by WeWorld took a viral twist with the launch of a Social Experiment Video produced by Action Aid Hellas. Do these formats still work? The answer is yes! In a couple of weeks the video reached more than 500.000 views in Greece. Media were in touch for interviews, on top of a podcast produced by a young journalist in a famous youth media outlet. Most importantly, the “actor” inspired passersby to get involved: “Is there a way we can help in all of this?”  

Achieving these results was not simple. ActionAid had to face several challenges, from deciding the concept of the video with the #ClimateOfChange consortium and finding a production company willing to shoot a video with hidden cameras to sticking with GDPR processes on the day of the filming. However, with the assistance of the producers, cameras were hidden in a central location in Athens and got many positive responses. The addition of a “bad guy” in the video helped in creating reactions for the public. Watch  the video and see how people react!
