Call for Expression of Interest to join the Team Europe Democracy Network

The Team Europe Democracy (TED) Secretariat is launching the Call for Expression of Interest (CEI) to identify potential members of the TED Network, the key pillar of the TED Initiative. The TED Initiative was launched in 2021 by the European Commission and fourteen EU Member States (Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands) to ensure the coherence of the EU democracy action worldwide and to increase impact of democracy and human rights support provided by different actors working in this field.

The CEI aims at mobilising key Europe-based stakeholders with global and/or regional engagement to join the TED Network, which will be an open platform for policy dialogue and exchange of knowledge, best practices, and shared learnings to support joint collaboration on the three TED thematic priorities: 1) Accountability and Rule of Law; 2) Political and Civic Participation; 3) Media and Digitalization.  

Membership to the TED Network will be voluntary. The platform will be composed of EU Institutions, EU Member States and their implementing agencies, individual CSOs or networks, thinks tanks, research centres and universities based in Europe and engaged worldwide in promoting democracy, good governance, rule of law, human rights, gender equality and/or media and digitalisation. Europe-based multilateral organisations are also invited to join.

If your organisation is interested in joining the TED Network, you can read the details of the CEI and apply directly by completing the online survey. We request you to submit the online survey no later than 23:45 (CET) on 31 March 2023.

TED Secretariat will operationalise the TED Network and set up working groups according to the three thematic priorities.

In the coming weeks, a webinar will be organised to allow potential members to clarify questions on the mission and operational aspects of the platform. You will find more information about the event on our web page.
