The DEAR Programme is renewing the composition of its main consultation body, the DEAR Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG), and looking for member organisations that want to play an active role. To gather a representative and knowledgeable group, in a transparent way, the DEAR Programme is launching a call for expression of interest. Civil society organisations (CSOs), local authorities (LAs), youth groups, international networks, Member States’ national departments or agencies, and scholars - all from the EU - invited to apply.

Please read the complete Call for Expression of Interest  and complete the application form and /or spread the word to organisations you would recommend. Deadline: 04 March 2022.

Role and responsibilities

The MSG is a 40-member consultation body that engages in policy-relevant exchange and learning, networking, and coordination in the field of development education and awareness raising (DEAR) at European level. In addition to advising the European Commission about the objectives, vision and implementation of the DEAR Programme, it will develop and support

  • Ideas on how to strengthen the impact of global citizenship education and awareness raising in Europe
  • Cross-fertilisation among different stakeholders and contexts

The MSG members will be active in two meetings a year, online and/or in person in Brussels. Members are also invited to participate in thematic working groups. In addition, members are expected to engage in

  • Outreach: to rapidly disseminate relevant MSG information among peers or constituencies, and collect their feedback/contribution/comments
  • Sharing information and knowledge within the MSG, e.g. innovative GCE approaches, methodologies and practices - including non-European experiences and perspectives- as well as their own DEAR-related initiatives.
  • Participation in the MSG is not remunerated, but travel and allowance costs to the MSG meetings are covered. The mandates are three years, renewable.

Who is eligible?

Organisations/Institutions or individual scholars must have documented experience in DEAR-related fields and the capacity to amplify and cross-fertilise the work of the MSG. Applicants must thus show how they can reach and/or represent DEAR stakeholders, e.g. through documented representativeness, membership or other outreach capacity. The final MSG composition should reflect the diversity of experience, size, expertise, geographic coverage, DEAR-related topics, and typology of stakeholders.

Current and past project implementers (including partners) can apply to be part of the MSG. MSG members can also submit project proposals for upcoming DEAR Programme calls.

Timetable:

Deadline: 04 March 2022

Selection in April and 1st MSG meeting: mid-May 2022 (tentative)
