Call for Tenders – New Leaders Lab training programme

The Africa-Europe Youth Academy (AEYA) is launching a call for tenders to design and deliver the New Leaders Lab, a programme to train young leaders in sub-Saharan Africa over 3 years.

 Would you like to contribute to strengthening youth leadership in Sub-Saharan Africa, enabling young people to act as leaders and impact multipliers and to implement sustainable development actions? This call is for you!

Expected assignments of the selected training centres, incubators or organisations include, among others:

• Developing the syllabus, schedule, and training modules, and recruiting the trainers required to implement the New Leaders Lab;
• Drafting a participant selection methodology, to be validated by Expertise France (will be part of the selection panel);
• Selecting 25–30 young leaders per year to participate in the programme;
• Implementing the New Leaders Lab in the country or countries of operation, based on the curriculum provided in the Appendix, the targeted skills and educational objectives defined by Expertise France and a format adapted to the local context ;
• Proposing additional training modules to ensure the legal and financial formalisation of participants’ projects and address inclusion priorities aligned with the organisation’s expertise (e.g. gender equality, environmental sustainability, vulnerability reduction) ;
• Drafting the rules for a pitch competition and organising it in person (with Expertise France in the jury);
• Ensuring the distribution of prizes to participants : 1st prize : €1,500; 2nd prize : €1,000; 3rd prize : €500
• Ensuring the collection of high-quality data and monitoring key indicators (performance, activity, input, outcome, and impact), in coordination with the Expertise France Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.

Targeted countries (10): Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Mauritania, Guinea, Benin, Togo, Cameroon, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda.

About the Project

The Africa-Europe Youth Academy (AEYA) is one of the flagship programmes of the EU Youth Action Plan in External Action (YAB) and forms part of the “Youth Mobility for Africa” initiative under the Africa–Europe Global Gateway Investment Programme. Expertise France is the lead implementing partner of the project, in consortium with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).

The AEYA project is implemented over a 48-month period (4 years) in twenty (20) countries, with a total budget of €15 million. AEYA aims to support young people aged 18–30 in developing leadership skills and implementing sustainable solutions, while strengthening links between Africa and Europe.
