Cards and Caches for the Climate

The EU DEAR project “Game On” activates youth energy for climate justice, biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation and mitigation through ‘gamification’: from geocaching and board games to museum exhibitions and theatre plays. 

Climate Quest (climategame.eu/climatequest/) and Terra Futura climategame.eu/activities/terrafutura) are its latest learning tools/games around the causes, impacts and solutions to climate change. ClimateQuest uses “Geocaching”, a global treasure hunt. The goal is to find a hidden treasure, a „cache“ using a GPS. The cache is hidden in a place precisely determined by the coordinates. 

Terra Futura is an engine-building board and card game with the theme of climate change and its impact on Europe and the global South. Created by the Czech partner “Na mysli”, it teaches consistency, prompt reactions and strategy. Watch the video tutorial

The DEAR project ‘Game On! Don’t let climate change end the game’ is an initiative of a consortium of ten partners from eight Central and Eastern European countries to activate the global youth and react to the existential threat climate change represents for the future of humankind.
