Envision 4.7

The Development Education and Awareness Raising Programme and DEAR-funded project Bridge 47 are co-hosting a lunchtime Infopoint session on the 18th February in Brussels.

Bridge 47 will present the Envision 4.7 Roadmap - a policy roadmap for the future implementation of SDG 4.7 in Europe.

The 90 minute session will also be an opportunity to learn more about the DEAR Programme, which is unique in the European Commission's Department for International Development and Cooperation, as it is the only Programme that focuses on European Union citizens.

Envision 4.7

While Europe has lots of great examples and experience in using Global Citizenship Education for sustainable development, there has been no holistic European action towards delivering on the commitments of SDG 4.7 – something Bridge 47 wants to see changed.

Some 200 global education specialists and practitioners from 54 countries gathered at the Envision 4.7 event in Helsinki earlier this month. Together they produced the Envision 4.7 Roadmap and published by Bridge 47, which receives support from the European Commission’s Development Education and Awareness Raising Programme.

Now authors and representatives of the DEAR programme, which funds Bridge 47, are staging a special event in Brussels called “Changing Hearts & Minds’ to explain the Roadmap, SDG 4.7 and the importance of global Citizenship Education in delivering on the SDGs.

Space is limited at the event, so be sure to reserve your seat ahead of time by following this link.

Confirmed speakers:

  • Agata Sobiech, Team Leader, Development Education and Awareness Raising (DEAR) Programme.
  • Albin Keuc, Director of SLOGA & Bridge 47 steering group
  • Brikena Xhomaqi, Director of the Lifelong Learning Platform

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A (all conducted in English).

Please share the event link with your network. And remember, if you can’t make it, you can watch and take part in the session remotely on the Infopoint website.
