News details
Do you want to reach the 800+ person DEAR community and the greater EU Partnerships’ platform readers? Do you want to spread your information, stories and event invitations? The DEAR Community Update/Newsletter is changing and will have a regular contribution schedule. The new approach will amplify your communication, in addition to informing you of DEAR Programme resources and developments. We encourage you to submit articles for the DEAR Community Update by the 1st of the month (next edition by 1 October 2021). See these guidelines for more information.
The DEAR Community Updates highlight “what works, what doesn’t and why” in Global Citizenship Education, DEAR projects and within the broader DEAR community. We are looking for stories to show impact and inspire action. Our guidelines in a nutshell:
- STYLE: KISS(ES): Keep it Short and Simple
- Answer the questions: Who, What, When, Why and How?
- Be concise and include very concrete examples
- Include the key message and take-away in the first few lines
- Maximum 500 words for a story. 200-400 for other articles
- Do not forget attractive visuals.
The DEAR Support Team also offers tips to draft good “stories”. See the video (1,5 hours)/or (15+) slides of a “story-telling” workshop. The guiding questions include:
- Who is your audience and what is the purpose of your story?
- Who is the main character(s) of your story?
- How did he/she/they change through your activities?
- What role did he/she/they play?
- What is your call to action for the readers?
See the complete table of questions for more guidance.
Finally, let us know if you would like journalist support to write your story - to publish under "Voices & Views".
