DEAR at #EDD19: An Opportunity to Connect
News details

The DEAR Programme is at the European Development Days #EDD19, where attendees of the two day event can join representatives from four DEAR projects at Stand 24 to learn more about the programme and our objectives.
"The European Development Days are an opportunity to connect with others working towards the SDGs," said Joseph Schermesser, from the European Commission and DEAR Task Manager, who officially opened the stand.
Each of the four DEAR project teams attending as part of the DEAR Programme's presence at EDD19 included youth representatives who shared how they are participating in DEAR activities in countries across Europe.
Stand visitors also played some of our specially designed DEAR games like Cards for Humanity or Jenga for Sustainability, or committed to an action they could contribute to acheiving the SDGs for our Tree of Intentions. Check out our social media using #DEARProgramme so see pictures.
The EDDs are a valuable opportunity to bring development practitioners together and this year's event is expected to attract some 8,000 representatives from international development organisations, action groups and European Institutions.
DEAR projects represented at Stand 24 are:
Start the Change: Stimulates understanding of the need for individual action among young people, so they can better engage in local and global action.
Bridge 47: A project that aims to inspire people to be active global citizens through transformative action.
Trade Fair, Live Fair: Part of the fair trade and ethical fashion movement working to drive change and encourage ethical consumption.
Change the Power (Em)Power to Change: Wants all of us to re-assess our personal consumption, looking especially at our energy use, so that we can all better protect our planet.

Thanks Diane, I wished you stayed longer :)
Thanks to the DEAR team for a great stand at the EDD's with fun games to make us think about our daily contributions to the SDG's.
The tree was great, and Jenga too - even if it fell on me before I could try ;)
