Nepal aims to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2045. At the same time, it plans to graduate from the Least Developed Countries (LDC) category by 2026. In addition, the country is still in the early stages of implementing federalism, and there are reported conflicts on resource sharing among federal, provincial and local governments. At this crucial juncture, the media plays a crucial role in tracking progress and informing the public on the importance of sustainable development efforts with minimal impact on ecosystems. Strengthening media capacity to produce evidence-based reporting on green growth and natural resource management (NRM) and promoting inclusivity in media representation and coverage is key to deepening pressure for sustainable development policies.

The Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop, held at Godavari, Lalitpur from 28 April to 1 May, was organized by EJN as part of our Media for Inclusive Green Growth in Nepal project, with support from the European Union.
