The theme for International Youth Day 2020 on August 12th is Youth Engagement for Global Action. As this theme fits nicely with the DEAR Programme priorities, we want to use the date to celebrate some of the work done by our young DEAR activists across Europe.

To do this we're asking DEAR projects to promote the acheivements of young DEAR activists on your own social media channels by sharing our posts with the hashtag #DEARProgramme on the 10th,11th and 12th August. Most importantly, please share this video on your social media channels on International Youth Day 12th August - you can download it from dropbox here

Or from wetransfer here

Or embed it on your website direct from youtube

AND

By taking part in the campaign!

How to take part?

Using the #DEARProgramme hashtag we want DEAR projects to share selfies/ photos of young DEAR activists on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) on August 10th , 11th and 12th. All posts should:

  • Include the hashtag #DEARProgramme and #YouthDay
  • Tag @europeaid
  • Link to the DEAR website www.dearprogramme.eu
  • Introduce a DEAR young activist (aged 35 years and under) by their first name and nationality
  • Give the DEAR project name they are involved in
  • Briefly give some reason why the young person is involved in this DEAR project/ what they have gained from this experience

Choose a square frame from one of the three we have prepared for the campaign. Insert your picture (you can do this with PPT) and share to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

We have also prepared a GIF for your use, which is particularly useful should you wish to share videos or a series of pictures to your Instagram story.

EXAMPLE TEXT (adapt accordingly for chosen social media):

My name is Anas, which means ‘friendliness’ in Arabic. I was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and I still live here. Due to religious differences, my parents had to take refuge from Pakistan. Germany has been very welcoming to us and I hope the #EU continues to do so. I am a Change Maker with the #StartTheChangeProject because I believe that not only can we all live peacefully together, but we can also profit and learn from each other, does not matter what your race, religion or any other beliefs are. As Nelson Mandela said: “It is in our hands to create a better world for all who live in it”. This #YouthDay find out more about the #DEARProgramme at www.dearprogramme.eu
