Job opportunity: Short Term Communication Expert

The EU-funded Med Dialogue for Rights and Equality is looking for a Junior Communications Expert to support the Programme’s Communication and Networking Expert over a short-term period. The assignment consists of 30 working days (indicatively 5 working days per month) to be implemented from May till December 2020.

Global objective:

Med Dialogue for Rights and Equality is an EU-funded Technical Assistance Programme with the overall objective of strengthening the role of CSOs active at the regional scale, in building sustainable development, regional cohesion and resilience, as well as in influencing policy-making in the Southern Neighborhood and the Euro-Mediterranean Space. Med Dialogue for Rights and Equality represents the continued commitment of the European Union in supporting the civil society in Southern Neighbourhood countries. The Programme is managed and implemented by a consortium between Particip, the German Development Cooperation, and European Partnership for Democracy, with Particip as the lead firm.

Specific objectives:

1. Supporting Communications Expert in the development, copywriting, and preparation of the Programme’s Website and Web Portal’s content in three languages: Arabic, English and French, as well as multimedia content: videos, photos with captions, etc.
2. Managing the Programme’s social media channels and report on analytics (TW, YouTube, FB, Instagram)
3. Drafting news about opportunities for CSOs in the region for the Programme’s newsletter
4. Maintining the media database of contacts updated
5. Preparing summaries of key data from technical documents for promotional purposes
6. Other tasks

Requested services:

• Copywriting and SEO-based content development in 3 languages. This breaks into wrting in a web-friedly language that can be picked up by search engines, and mainly a language that’s accessible by the Programme’s target groups
• Support Expert in the preparation of all the Programme’s website and Web Portal in 3 languages including preparation of multimedia content such as editing photos, creating albums of photos of the Programme’s different activities, and videos with their captions, etc.
• Coordinate with translators for website content as needed
• Draft 2-3 news items in 3 languages per week about opportunities for CSOs in the region
• Develop feature stories on demand
• Prepare summaries of key data from technical documents for promotional purposes. This applies to the common action descriptions, Programme’s mapping reports and commissioned studies, where the extracted content can be used for the developmemt of infographics, podcasts, etc.

Requirements

Qualifications and skills:

• At least a university degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or similar field. In the absence of a degree, relavnt professional experience of a minimum of 6 years applies
• Proven strong written and communication skills in Arabic, English and French. French is an asset.
• Ability to work remotely
• Timely delivery and high organisation skills
• Leverage a creative mindset
• Multi-tasker

General professional experience:

• At least 3 years of experience in the field of communications, copywriting, and social media management, photo editing, etc.

Specific professional experience:

• Excellent writing for web and copywriting skills in AR, EN & French
• Expertise in SEO & google ad words, etc.
• Expertise in managing social media channels, building content calendars, utilising metrics and analytics to improve targeting, Fb ads, and reporting on KPIs
• Excellent synthesis skills
• Working experience in international projects will be an asset
• Experience in event management
