June 5th Campaign: A Global Celebration for Nature and Climate Commitment

We have successfully concluded our global campaign for June 5th, World Environment Day, a collective effort that brought together cities, local leaders, international organizations, and committed citizens from across the Americas. This initiative highlighted the transformative power of local climate action and the importance of protecting and restoring our natural ecosystems for the well-being of present and future generations.

Throughout the campaign, we shared inspiring stories from various corners of the continent. From reforestation in the Tijuca Forest in Brazil to the protection of wetlands in Chile and Colombia, each city, community, and leader has demonstrated that with effort and determination, it is possible to confront the climate crisis and preserve our planet's biodiversity.

Moreover, we received support from numerous entities, including the European Union, the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy, and local authorities who joined this cause. The collaboration between cities and organizations has been fundamental in promoting knowledge exchange, strengthening local capacities, and increasing the visibility of climate actions across the continent. This campaign not only served to commemorate World Environment Day but also to reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and climate action. The testimonies and initiatives shared remind us that every effort counts and that together, we can build a greener and more resilient future.

We would like to thank everyone who participated and contributed to making this campaign a resounding success. Let’s continue working together to face climate challenges and protect our planet. The path to sustainability is long, but with collective support and action, we are confident that we will achieve a lasting impact.

Thank you for being part of this important mission!
